Established in 1987 as HAC-TAC Ltd. by Phil Duff the founder and creator of the HAC-TAC brand (founded in1983), the trading name of this company was changed in the late 1990’s to reflect the addition of new distribution agreements reached with Ariat International Inc., Georg Schumacher and Mars Leather Care.

Celebrating the complimentary strengths of this group of distinguished equestrian Brands, The SMD Group immediately took on the challenge of promoting these brands and working to raise the standard of both wholesaling and retailing within the industry.

A decade on, and SMD are today widely regarded as the specialists in equestrian Sales, Marketing and Distribution at the premium end of the market.
